Visual Communication

As an artist, designer and creator it's important that I stay up to date on applications, programs and other things I can use to create. As a marketer and communicator the same can be said because I need to be able to communicate to my audience in a manner that caters to what they want. If I want to utilize social media to get my message out, it's important that I not only make sure my statement reaches my audience, but my visual content is designed in a manner that is easily readable. This is often a step missed in communication because we think we can just put our message out there by informal means, when in reality if we want to stand out it must be designed accordingly. If we're any sort of smart human, we all have jobs and on that job we are all but forced to communicate. Communication is a vital and needed portion of any job. With the advancements in technology how has communicating changed in the corporate environment? For me, on my job of 17+ years, we've gone from strict email and telephone communication, to conference calls, to accessing and utilizing the text format of communication. These formats form a vast variety of other ways to communicate that can vary from job to job. One option that is now available is that of the Bubble Group Chat . We've done away with the majority of conference calls and transitioned to a more easy and accessible way to communicate. Live Streaming

Viewing movies and television has come a long way in how accessible it is. In the past, if we wanted to watch a movie we'd have to go purchase or rent the DVD. If it was a new movie, you'd have to go to the theater to watch it, or wait for it's DVD to come up for rent or purchase.  How things have changed in how we view these items. Now the options of live streaming services are easily accessible and at the ready. You can instantly view content via your phone, your computer, your tablet, or on your television if you have a smart TV.  Applications such as Hulu, Netflix and YouTube TV to name a few allow us the access to view as much content as we choose for one small fee.  We no longer have to go anywhere to purchase or rent movies. The easily accessible streaming services available to us allow us to change our consumption. News Consumption

In the days of old, consumption of news, or things deemed worthy to be informative to the people was often found in formats that are quickly sliding into the past. Formats such as print advertisements, magazines, and even print newspapers are quickly loosing their edge to the digital age. In a digital news report in 2015 (Hand, 2018) , it was found that individuals consume news more in the following ways: 11% paid for news online 26% accessed it thru a smart phone 32% shared news stories through email and social media (Hand, 2018). News consumption has changed because we now often don't even garner it from newsworthy sites. Communication in it's simplest form can be defined as the exchanging or imparting of information or news. In essence, this hasn't changed at all. We still exchange and impart information and news anywhere and everywhere and to anyone who will listen. It's the methods of HOW we communicate now in the digital era that have changed. Marco! Polo!

In a world of ever growing communication, the way we communicate has changed. Where we used to have to use the telephone to make a phone call, which required us to remember the persons phone number, we can now use a variety of other technology out there to put forth our efforts in communicating with a friend, a loved one, a relative, or a coworker. An example of this form of communication could be that of the Marco Polo Video Walkie Talkie app for Android and iOS users. Marco Polo is a communication format that allows the user to video a message to a friend. If the friend happens to be on their phone they can automatically be notified of the incoming video message and click and watch it "live". If they are busy during the video, the video sits and waits patiently for the user to watch the video.  The user can then respond in return with their own video.
